LIOJ 35th Anniversary
Steve Cornwell
(1993-95)

I came to LIOJ right after finishing my MAT at the School for International Training in the early '90s. I was fortunate to teach in both the Business Program and the Community Program, and have many fond memories of my days in Odawara: making Odawara lanterns, taking walks on Pig Farm Road, eating at John Festa, going to Hakone with students, etc.

Since leaving LIOJ, I have been at Osaka Jogakuin Junior College where I am an associate professor. One thing that I have done is coordinate an intensive English program where I drew heavily from my memories of the High School Intensives at LIOJ, incorporating a family of nations activity, an international role play, a travel simulation and, of course, a buffet!

Happy 50th anniversary, MRA!
